Ronni Ancona has landed her own BBC One series following a successful pilot.
Three episodes of Ronni Ancona & Co have been filmed on location and in Ealing Studios, and will air later this year.
As well as the celebrity impressions that made her name, the series will also feature characters including The Scary Woman, a teacher on the verge of a nervous breakdown; Britain's b*tchiest airport security guard; and the flamboyant Miffy Toffle.
Guests will include John Session, Jan Ravens, Phil Cornwell and Emily Woof.
Ancona said: ‘The show is an eclectic mix of characters and impressions, which is something I've always wanted to do. And it's has been a fantastic opportunity to work with other artists who I greatly admire.’
The show is the fourth series to be commissioned from the six comedy pilots announced last year by BBC One controller Peter Fincham and comedy commissioner Lucy Lumsden.
It was co-written by Ancona and stand-up Alan Francis with contributions from Alex Lowe, who performed the show Let’s Talk To Barry at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, and Julian Dutton. The director is Ed Bye.
