US comedy-drama set in the world of magazine publishing

The BBC has acquired all five seasons of the hit American comedy-drama series The Bold Type.

The show, which ran on US cable network Freeform from 2017 to 2021, revolves around the outrageous lives of Jane, Kat and Sutton, three millennials who work in New York at the nation’s top women’s magazine, Scarlet.

It stars Katie Stevens as Jane Sloan, Aisha Dee as Kat Edison, Meghann Fahy  as Sutton Brady, Sam Page  as Richard Logan, Matt Ward as Alex Crawford, Melora Hardinas high-powered editor-in-chief Jacquelyn Carlyle and Stephen Conrad Moore  as Oliver Grayson.

The series is loosely inspired by Joanna Coles, former editor-in-chief of Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.

All 52 episodes will be coming to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer soon.
