Two comedies in development for Radio 4
Joseph Morpurgo and comedian and financial guru Dominic Frisby are both piloting new shows for Radio 4.
Frisby will be joined by Paul Sinha and Grainne Maguire, in the pilot episode of his show, More Money Than Sense.
The programme, made by Absolutely Productions, will explore the world of pop economics, in a similar way to the bestseller Freakonomics.
It promises to uses the science of economics to ask questions such as: How much is illegal sperm? Which PR firm should you hire for your murder trial? and How are honey bees traded on the black market?
A panel of comedians and special guests will try and tackle such questions, with economists revealing the real answers.
This is being piloted at the Lost Theatre in Stockwell, South London, on May 14. For free tickets, email mmts@absolutely-uk.com.
Meanwhile, Joseph Morpurgo’s Walking Tour will see the triple Chortle Award winner present a series of 'educational' audio adventures.
He is still developing the show, with a work-in-progress gig at the Bill Murray, in Islington, North London, next Wednesday. Free audience tickets are available via the BBC website.
