Filming starts on Roisin Conaty's GameFace
Filming has begun on Roisin Conaty's E4 sitcom GameFace – three years after the pilot aired.
Father Ted star Pauline McLynn has joined the cast, playing the mother of Conaty's character Marcella, an aspiring actress.
The six half-hour episodes will also star Francis Magee, who played Yoren in Game of Thrones, as her furious dad and Dylan Edwards, whose credits include Misfits and Pramface, as her wayward brother Billy.
Dustin Demri Burns, of the Cardinal Burns double act, is her is ex-boyfriend Simon and Karl Theobald, from Green Wing and Plebs plays her therapist.
Beginning life as a Comedy Blap, the original pilot episode of GameFace aired in April 2014. The series, which Conaty also wrote, was commissioned the following year.
Marcella is described as having 'a distinct world view' and unable to get her work, family or love life on track, despite being ever optimistic.
Conaty tweeted a photo from the set earlier this week:

Caroline Ginty – who was once in an Edinburgh double-act with Conaty – is the only other cast member who was also in the pilot, playing Marcella's friend. Damien Molony from Being Human and Nina Toussaint-White from Uncle also star.
The series is made by Peep Show producers Objective – with Ben Farrell as executive producer, Charlotte Lewis as producer and weekly Wipe's Andrew Chaplin as director. It is due to air later this year.
