Noel Fielding's album released
LOOSE TAPESTRIES, the band Noel Fielding formed with Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno, have released their second album, NHS. It includes music from the second series of Luxury Comedy, plus Can’t Wait For Christmas, which featured Idris Elba rapping. It is available for download now, priced £9.99 – or is out on vinyl next Friday for £26.77.
AUSTRALIAN comedy rock band The Beards have announced their last ever UK dates. The quartet are going on their farewell tour, after admitting that they’ve achieved all they hoped with their facial-hair-themed songs. They visit Bristol’s Marble Factory on October 15, King Tuts in Glasgow on the 16th, Manchester’s Ruby Lounge on the 17th; Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms on the 18th and London’s Scala on the 19th. Tickets are on sale now.
ROSE BYRNE was named best comedy actress at the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards last night for her role in Bad Neighbours 2. Meanwhile, Jennifer Saunders received the magazine’s outstanding contribution award, presented by her comedy partner Dawn French, which she dedicated to comedian Victoria Wood. Katherine Ryan hosted the event at London's Berkeley Square Gardens.
ROMESH RANGANATHAN has added a fourth date at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo as part of his current tour. Tickets for the October 25 gig go on sale at 10am on Friday.
