Tim Vine joins Blandings
Tim Vine has joined the cast of BBC One's PG Wodehouse comedy Blandings.
The stand-up – who left Lee Mack’s sitcom Not Going Out last year – will take the role of Beach, Blandings' long-suffering butler.
The second seven-part series, adapted from Wodehouse’s Blandings stories, also boast a host of guest stars including Harry Enfield, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Celia Imrie, John Sessions and The Wrong Mans’s Matthew Baynton.
They join Timothy Spall, who plays the absent-minded Lord Emsworth, aka Clarence, and Jennifer Saunders as his indomitable sister Connie, in the series, which is set in 1929.
Writer Guy Andrews says: ’As ever, all Clarence wants is to be left in peace with his beloved pig. But events conspire against him as never before.’
Filming is about to begin on location at Crom Castle in Northern Ireland.
