He was perviously was nominated forbest newcomer at the Fringe 2013, having won the Leicester Comedy Festival comedian of the year competition in 2009, come runner-up in the So You Think You're Funny? new act competition of 2008, and being nominated for the breakthrough award in the 2010 Chortle Awards.

Seann Walsh to star in Art play

Comic to tour UK in stage comedy this autumn

Seann Walsh is to star in a new touring production of the classic comedy play Art.

The comic will appear alongside  Chris Harper, who plays Nathan Curtis in  Coronation Street, and Aden Gillett, Jack Maddox on  The House of Eliott, on a UK tour this autumn.

Written by Yasmina Reza, Art was first performed in Paris in 1994 and revolves around three friends whose relationship comes under strain when one of them buys and expensive piece of modern art – a completely white canvas.

The play has long attracted comedians. In 2003 The League of Gentlemen trio of Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton and Mark Gatiss took all the roles – and Tim Key starred in a 2016 production (Review). Alan Alda,  Nigel Havers, Roger Lloyd-Pack  and Stephen Tompkinson have all appeared in various versions, too.

The latest adaptation is directed by  Iqbal Khan, who recently directed East Is East at the National Theatre.

The tour will visit Lighthouse Poole (29-31 Aug), Theatre Royal Bath (3-7 Sept), Norwich Theatre Royal (10-14 Sept), Mercury Theatre Colchester (17-21 Sept), Malvern Theatres (24-28 Sept), Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne (30 Sept-5 Oct), Nottingham Theatre Royal (7-12 Oct), Belgrade Theatre, Coventry (15-19 Oct) and Sheffield Lyceum Theatre (22-26 Oct).

Additional dates are expected to be announced later.
