British variety act tries to win a 'judge's cut' place

Mat Ricardo made an appearance on America’s Got Talent last night.

The British variety act had previously made it through the audition phase and was one of 18 performers hoping to get through to the quarter-finals through the ‘judge’s cut’.

But only a short extract from his knife act was shown on the NBC talent show – even though it featured the dramatic scene of him cutting into his own arm.

And at the end of the programme he was announced as having been eliminated.

The show has been attracting more than 12.5million viwers an episode when catch-up viewing is included.
