Aziz Ansari: Right Now teaser trailer

Comic's comeback directed by Spike Jonze

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Aziz Ansari's new comedy special.

Right Now marks his return to the spotlight 18 months after the 36-year-old comedian got caught up in the #MeToo campaign.

In January last year, an anonymous woman described an encounter with Ansari that split commentators, with some saying it was just bad date, some saying it was sexual misconduct.

Unlike Louis CK, Ansari has addressed the issue contritely in his stand-up, saying: 'There were times I felt really upset and humiliated and embarrassed, and ultimately I just felt terrible this person felt this way. But you know, after a year, how I feel about it is, I hope it was a step forward. It made me think about a lot, and I hope I’ve become a better person.'

Netflix have also said they would be happy to make another season of Ansari's acclaimed Master of None 'whenever Aziz is ready'.

The teaser trailer shows Ansari preparing to go on stage, but no actual gig footage.

Right Now is directed by Being John Malkovich's Spike Jonze and drops on Netflix next Tuesday.
