You haven't heard of Nellie Garcia. She has been forgotten. Gregory Akerman is scared of being forgotten, however, in 100 years, no one will remember anything about him. Not even that great joke about the former Yugoslavia.
In an unsubstantiated fit of bravado, Gregory has chosen a dead stranger whose biography he has traced. That stranger is Nellie Garcia. Maybe through remembering this lady, a lady who lived a life without changing the world, without penning a poem, without the arrogance or egoism of people like, well ... like Greg. Maybe Gregory can understand what it is to be forgotten and sing and unsung heroine for us all.
But, you know ... with jokes and shit.
