The Cheese-Badger group returns to Edinburgh with the astonishing tale of Midge, a friendless thirteen-year-old boy whose parents are killed in a freak car accident. Midge is sent to live with his estranged Uncle Clive, an alarmingly eccentric inventor determined one day to emigrate to the Moon. Eventually the lad settles into life with his uncle, and even falls in love with a girl, whom he finds crawling out of a muddy hole in the garden. But Uncle Clive harbours a dark and fiendish secret...
