Dan Mitchell – Original Review
Note: This review is from 2007
He has natural funny bones, prepared to be as daft or weird as he needs be to get a laugh, yet somehow maintaining the illusion that this is all perfectly normal.
He brings a passion to his silly set pieces, and can talk wittily about the most obscure of subjects; not many comics have a routine about the Welsh word for jellyfish.
However, he still appears quite inexperienced – despite four years in comedy - and in some segments you can tell he hasn’t quite worked out the best way to say what he’s trying to say; and some of the more straightforward puns need to be attacked more obliquely. There’s a song, too, which is OK – but no better.
But Mitchell still has promise, even if it’s taking a long time coming to fruition.
