Kirsty Moss – Original Review
Note: This review is from 2005
Moss is a predatory, lascivious, maneater who makes the Desperate Housewives look like demure wallflowers.
Her sexually aggressive stance proves very effective – except, perhaps, with the unsuspecting men she targets as her comedy gimps – instantly seizing the commanding upper hand.
Her tales of being a divorced mother to far more children than seems feasible, while being a slave to her insatiably raging libido lean heavy on the smut, it will come as no surprise to learn. But it’s done with enough of a cheeky self-effacing wink to make the routine, and persona, distinctive; and she manages to steer clear of most of the gratuitous excesses this territory can allow.
There are still perhaps parts of the set that need tidying up – an over-use of the familiar comedy ‘reveal’ of the ‘…and then I got off the bus’ type, especially – but less than three years into her comedy career, Moss is showing great promise.
