An animated performer, Chicago-born Charbonneau has a peppy style that ensures a decent reception from the most moribund of crowds.

Well, that and her sultry look and an unabashed eagerness to talk dirty - a combination that's also served her well in alternative careers as a Maxim sex correspondent and Channel 5 porn reviewer.

But behind the froth there's not a huge bulk of substance, with no more than a couple of strong gags in her well-practised routine.

It's enough to get by, and she has enough zing in her delivery to keep things entertaining, but that's not enough to elevate her from her current status as a reliable stalwart of the smaller clubs.
