Jovanka Steele – Original Review
Note: This review is from 2002
This sassy Californian easily dispels all stereotypes of blondes and Americans with some piercingly smart observations and imaginatively conceived routines.
Unfortunately, it's a high standard she cannot yet maintain throughout a longer routine, where she is apt to wander a little, but impressive nonetheless. She also occasionally lapses into her American ways - for example pausing after the announcement that she's quit alcohol, in expectation of some supportive audience whoops, which - of course - never materialise from cynical Brits.
However, as the rest of her routine rises to match her sharpest insights, we can expect to see more of this bright comic.
