Nathan Cassidy – Original Review
Note: This review is from 2001
Cassidy is quite an incredible act - for all the right reasons, and a good many of the wrong onces as well.
Despite a complete absence of material - a state of affairs he's all too happy to acknowledge - this new act manages to be gloriously entertaining through sheer energy and chutzpah.
It's a bare-faced audacity reminiscent of - but thankfully not derivative of - an early Vic Reeves, and it works surprisingly well, even if the weaknesses are still showing.
Once he puts some substance behind the spiel, this will be a truly fantastic set.
