Logan Murray – Original Review
Note: This review is from 2001
This is a fine example of a comic covering well-trodden ground, yet making it funny with a unique spin and faultless delivery.
Murray's subject matter seems unispired - the difference between men and women, male inadequacies, sex , all the usual - but it really is the way he tells 'em that make his observations so amusing.
Building up gradually, Murray's cynical but honest comedy sneaks up on the unsuspecting audience and draws it in under the cover of a deceptively laid-back style before piling on the laughs.
Murray treats his material almost like a thesis, building up evidence to support his theory (basically 'all men are crap') until his point is proved. It's not rocket science, but a prime example of a perfectly-constructed set, told well.
