Fit To Burst
Note: This review is from 2000
If anything could be described as a feel-good show, this is it.
For while there are few genuine belly laughs, I sat for the full hour with a contented grin on my face as the talented trio ran through their wry songs and skits.
The slick sketches are knowingly witty, but with the exception of a brilliant modern opera piece - lack the killer punch to be truly amusing.
Marvel at the acting and singing skills of the performers, nod knowingly at the well-observed characters and smile at the neat punchlines.
But the cumulative effect of the show is greater than the sum of its parts, leaving you happy as Larry without understanding quite why.
A very pleasant way to spend a mid-afternoon hour.
