Four Horsemen
Note: This review is from 2000
Easily one of the most polished sketch outfits on the fringe, the talented Four Horsemen have produced a fine collection of inventive and amusing routines for this classy show.
Much of the best humour is based on middle-class hang-ups a fretful housewife overanxious not to offend a visiting plumber being the finest example and it's none the worse for that.
Characters are strong enough to reappear throughout the show, though the team are well aware of when to stop, and sketches are separated by some hilarious spoof vox pops.
Though patchy in a few places, the overwhelming impression is of an amusing and well thought-out show, perfectly paced and expertly performed.
Reminiscent of Fry and Lawrie at their best, this clever comedy team are well worth checking out.
