Johnny Vegas: My house is haunted

...but by a 'welcoming' ghost

comedyJohnny Vegas believes his house is haunted - but by a ‘welcoming’ ghost.

Speaking at the launch of Channel 4’s new zombie show Generation X last night the comic admitted: ‘Yeah, I have a ghost in the house.

‘I have a presence in my house and other people confirmed that they've felt something in there, but it's a very warm and welcoming presence.

‘Then I found out that the family before us had an exorcism. But I don’t think that she [the previous owner] was a nice woman, so I just don’t think that she liked company.’

Vegas lives in Richmond, South-West London, and said it was the first time he’s lived in a large house, having grown up in a terrace.

He also said he was obsessed by zombies, and had even planned how he would combat any apocalypse of the undead.

‘When my son was going to school in Kew, my big idea was learning how to hotwire a boat on the Thames, or to get into Kew Gardens because they'll have all the seeds to repropagate, and they’ve got the high walls,’ he said.

Vegas also said that the ghost in his house isn’t his only supernatural experience.

He said: ‘I swear to God, once a dog talked to me. It said, "Stop following me". I was in one of my moody moods, my needy moods.’

Before making his revaluation about his haunted property, he urged the journalists present: ‘Don't lead with this on page one!’

Generation X starts on Channel 4 at 9pm on Sunday.
