Richard Herring revives his driving instructor character from Fist Of Fun

And now Richard Herring has revived his character Peter Dibdin, a sarcastic know-it-all driving instructor forever belittling his pupils for being so stupid they don’t even know how to drive.

The comic said he got the idea to revive the petty-minded alter-ego with a love of an acronym after growing a moustache for Movember – combined with the realisation that, as with Steve Coogan and Alan Partridge – he is now the right age to play the character.

Stevie Martin co-stars in the new sketch, which was aired as part of Ally And Herring’s Twitch Of Fun, the comedian’s lockdown project that he co-hosts with a 128-year-old ventriloquist doll made by his great-grandfather.
