Joe Lycett's kitchen sinks £3,000 into charity
Having the Lord Mayor of Birmingham open his kitchen extension was an on-brand silly stunt from Joe Lycett.
And now it has emerged that he raised more than £3,000 for charity for raffling off tickets to the social event of the decade in May.
Mayor Yvonne Mosquito initially declined to attend, but accepted after the comic opened it up to the public. Comedians Katherine Ryan and Lloyd Griffith were among the celebrity guests.
Lycett said it was the ‘most wonderful day possibly in my entire life’ – and yesterday handed over the cheque to the Lord Mayor of Birmingham's charity.
Ms Mosquito said Lycett ‘captures the spirit of Birmingham… I’m so proud of him.’
