Rob Brydon on the perks of doing voiceovers

Being the voice behind some of Britain’s best-known brands comes with a few extra perks, Rob Brydon has revealed.

The comic and prolific voiceover actor has disclosed that when he was doing the adverts for  Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes, he used to get ‘pallets of breakfast cereal’ as a bonus.

Far too many than he could actually eat, it turns out.

‘We used to keep them in the cellar and wrap them at Christmas and give them as presents,’ he told Metro. ‘Although, I have to say, when my relatives would unwrap them, the emotion I would use to describe it would be disappointment.’

Brydon also spoke about performing in his Speedos for the new comedy movie Swimming With Men – but confessed he didn’t shed them for the shower scenes.

‘I didn’t want to make the other guys jealous,’ he joked. ‘I didn’t want to intimidate them with what has been gifted to me naturally. So I thought, for the sake of company morale, I should keep mine on.’

Swimming With Men is out in cinemas from Friday.
