Black Ops sold to the US

British comedy-thriller airs on Hulu from early 2025

Season one of the BBC comedy-thriller Black Ops has been sold to Hulu in the US.

The series, co-created by its star Gbemisola Ikumelo, will air on the streaming service early next year.

She and co-star Hammed Animashaun play a hapless pair who join the Met Police as police community support officers, in the hope of cleaning up their neighbourhood. Soon, however, they find themselves unwittingly thrust into the murky world of deep cover infiltration and a powerful criminal enterprise.

In the UK, it attracted an audience of 2.3million for the first episode and 1.6million across the full series within 28 days of broadcast.

Josh Cole, head of comedy at programme-makers BBC Studios, says: ‘Black Ops had UK viewers hooked on a mix of adventure, danger and big laughs, so we’re delighted that Hulu audiences will soon be able to enjoy this very special show’.

Season two of the comedy, which Ikumelo created with  Akemnji Ndifornyen, begins filming in early 2025..
