New competition programme for Channel 4

Sue Perkins is to host a celebrity snow sculpture competition for Channel 4.

And in what may be an example of the title coming before the programme, the show will be called  The Greatest Snowman.

In the one-off, the contestants – who have not yet been named – travel to an Alpine resort where they will have thousands of tonnes of snow and giant blocks of crystal-clear ice at their disposal.

The stars will be supported by a crew of seasoned sculptors, engineers, and snow builders , but programme makers Southshore say the three tough rounds ‘will test both their brain and brawn’.

No broadcast date has yet been confirmed.
