James Corden and Ruth Jones write Gavin & Stacey book

Promising 'fresh insight' into how it came to be

James Corden and Ruth Jones are writing the story of Gavin and Stacey, for publication next year.

The title, When Gavin Met Stacey And Everything In Between is subtitled A Story Of Love And Friendship and will be released next October.

The hit comedy's two creators will also read the audiobook version.

They said in a statement: ‘We’re so excited to be sharing the story behind the story of Gavin & Stacey. The show has played a huge part in our 25-year friendship and we hope this book will give readers a fresh insight into how it all came about.’

It will be published by Transworld, whose publisher Susanna Wadeson told trade website The Bookseller: 'What a huge privilege it is to be working with James and Ruth. It is incredibly exciting to hear directly from them all that happened along the way from the first spark of an idea to three series and two Christmas specials.’

The final going out on Christmas Day will actually be the third festive special from the team,

She added: ‘It is particularly special to be given an insight into their creative partnership and how their friendship has grown while Nessa, Smithy, Gavin and Stacey becoming ever-increasingly important to all of us.’
