Josh Widdicombe joins Bluey
Rob Beckett, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker have lent their voices to kids’ favourite Bluey.
The comics appear in one of six new ‘minisodes’ – all lasting between one and three minutes – now available on Disney+
Their episode is called Butlers and is set in Bluey’s contraption-filled dreamhouse, where a new servant is being shown the ropes.
Beckett voiceshead butler, Monty, while Widdicombe, his co-host on the Parenting Hell podcast, voices new recruit Barnsley. Brooker, who co-hosts The Last Leg with Widdicombe, plays kitchen help Harlow.
It's the first time the hit Australian series has featured any British actors.
Widdicombe said: ‘It was a huge honour to be asked to be a part of a show that has shown the world that children’s TV can be genuinely absolutely brilliant for all ages. Just a shame Rob Beckett had to ruin it.’
And Brooker added: ‘I can’t believe I got to be involved in the best children’s show ever made. I treasure sitting with my daughters laughing at Bluey and I’ve still never got through Sleepytime without crying.
‘It’s an absolute privilege to have been a part of the show and do it alongside my friend Rob Beckett and the other one from his podcast and that Last Leg show.’
The Bluey Minisodes are written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio. Bluey is the No. 1 most-watched series on streaming this year to date in the US, with more than 780million hours viewed.
