Cancellation re-versed! Frank Skinner revives poetry podcast

Show was axed by Absolute Radio

Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast is to return, eight months after being cancelled by Absolute Radio.

The show was axed in March – alongside the popular Saturday-morning show which the comic had hosted for 15 years.

Last month, he reunited with the co-hosts of that programme, Emily Dean, and Pierre Novellie, to revive the format for a podcast, which has already hit No.1 in the comedy charts.

Now he is also bringing back the show about his passion for poetry, analysing contemporary and classic works.

The new series, which is produced by Avalon and returns next Wednesday  will features the likes of Dylan Thomas, Rebecca Hawkes and Seamus Heaney.

Skinner said: ‘Making the poetry podcast is one of my deepest joys and I’m told there are thousands of people out there who actually listen to it. I’m very happy to be presenting them with Series Ten.

Inbetweeners star James Buckley and his wife Clair launch a new podcast tomorrow based on their relationship. The Buckleys is  follow-on from their successful blog At Home With The Buckleys.
