Ardal O’Hanlon announces Not Himself tour
Ardal O’Hanlon is heading back out on the road, six years after launching his last stand-up tour,
The Father Ted and Taskmaster star will be touring Not Himself from September next year, reflecting on 'everything from his own ethnic and religious background to the joys and follies of contemporary life’.
O’Hanlon said: ‘The itch is back! I can't put it off any longer. The joy and excitement of live touring. The venting opportunities. Please do come along if you're free to my most personal show yet.’
Despite that pledge to get personal, the blurb for the show from promoters Mick Perrin Worldwide also says the comic has ‘no major trauma of his own to draw on for material, apart from the drag of getting older’ so ‘turn[s] his gaze outwards’ at the likes of towel animals, AI, chair yoga and cauliflower as a main course.
The comic is also know for the BBC’s Death in Paradise and as a guest star in Derry Girls, as well as his stand-up.
The comic’s last tour, The Showing Off Must Go On, began in 2019 but ran to a few dates 2022 on the back of his appearances in Taskmaster.
So far 38 dates have been announced for the Not Himself tour, kicking off in Ipswich on September 24 and winding up in Belfast in November.
Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster from next Wednesday, then on general sale fro Thursday.
