Richard Gadd up for two Emmys
Richard Gadd has been nominated for two Emmys for writing and starring in Baby Reindeer, in shortlists dominated by The Bear.
Gadd’s hit Netflix series was also shortlisted for outstanding limited or anthology series, with the comedian nominated for best actor and writer in the same category.
There were also supporting actor nominations for his co-stars Jessica Gunning, who played stalker Martha, Nava Mau who played Terri, the girlfriend of Gadd’s character Donny, and Tom Goodman-Hill who portrayed abuser Darrien.
Baby Reindeer was also nominated for direction, costume design, casting, editing and music supervision, making a total of 11 nominations
The Bear received a record 23 Emmy nominations – a record of the second series of any comedy season, beating previous holder 30 Rock’s 22.
It was nominated for outstanding comedy series with acting nods for leads Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri and a guest appearance nod for Olivia Colman.
