GLASGOW: The city's comedy festival continues all week – and next. Tonight's pick is Stewart Lee's sold-out show at the King's Theatre, but stand-up fans are spoiled for choice, with the likes of Rosco McClelland, Chris Forbes, Aideen McQueen and Moira trilogy on tonight alone. LONDON: The takeover of the Royal Court Theatre by comedy producers Avalon continues all week. Today, Chris Ramsey records a new special there. Tomorrow there's a line-up show comprising Garrett Millerick, Bella Hull, Steve Bugeja, Huge Davies. Tuesday two strong solo shows from Ania Magliano & Glenn Moore and Wednesday it's the turn of talented musical comedy duo Flo & Joan. Then David Baddiel reprises his last three stand-up shows before Lucy Beaumont brings the season to a close next Sunday with her latest, The Trouble and Strife.
ABERDEEN: A posh white boy rapping, but with lightning-fast comedy improv skills - that's the appeal of MC Hammersmith, the alter-ego of comic Will Naameh, who embarks on a new tour today. He said when it was announced: 'I can't wait to hear your suggestions, turn them into freestyle rap tracks live onstage, and rave loudly with audiences across the country! Feel free to challenge me. Throw me stupidly long words. Suggest impossibly complicated things to rap about. Monday March 18
STOKE: Fast Show creators Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson are joined by original cast members Simon Day, Mark Williams, John Thomson and Arabella Weir in a 30th anniversary reunion tour, kicking off at the Regent Theatre tonight. The show will mix ‘greatest hits’ sketches with Higson interviewing his colleagues in a Q&A format – and the team have said that if the tour proves successful – as ticket sales have suggested – it could pave the way to more Fast Show projects.
LONDON: Up-and-coming US comedian Leslie Liao crosses the Atlantic for her debut London show, all about the life and loves of a single Chinese-American woman living in LA. She's at the Soho Theatre all week.
Tuesday March 19
LONDON: It's theTeenage Cancer Trust's annual mega-night of comedy at the Royal Albert Hall, amid a week of musical fundraising gigs there. Host Kevin Bridges introduces sets from Rob Beckett, Paul Chowdhry, Joe Lycett, Joanne McNally and Seann Walsh.
Wednesday March 20
LONDON: Another big fundraiser, this one for Cancer Research UK, takes place at the Francis Crick Institute in St Pancras with the early start of 6.30pm. Harry Hill, Ian Stone, Marcus Brigstocke and Ninia Benjamin are among the bigger names on the bill.
LONDON: Highly-tipped up-and-coming comics Dan Tiernan and Paddy Young both tape their first specials in a double-bill at Up The Creek in Greenwich. Tickets.
