Coronation treat
London’s Angel Comedy Club is to hold another of its street parties over the Coronation weekend.
Comedians including Rosie Jones, Viggo Venn, Sikisa, Huge Davies and Julia Masli will be performing on the roof of the club’s venue – The Bill Murray pub in Islington – on Sunday, May 7.
The event, which runs from 3pm to 8pm, is free to attend, but will be soliciting donations of money or food to The Trussell Trust food banks.
It follows a similar party last year which attracted more than 4,000 people and raised £5,000.
The Bill Murray’s managing director, Barry Ferns, said: ‘This was a huge event last year and we've got some really exciting acts booked this year - so it'll be even bigger. I'd say we'll blow the roof off the place, but then we'd have nowhere to perform.’
Organisers are asking those who want to attend to RSVP through their website to keep track of numbers. Details of the items accepted by the food banks are available at https://www.hackney.foodbank.org.uk/donate#donatefood
