Comic is new regular on ITV2 spin-off show

Darren Harriott has joined Love Island companion show Aftersun as a regular panellist.

The comic made guest appearances on the show last year but will be a regular fixture when it returns on Sunday.

Hosted by Laura Whitmore, the live programme offers gossip from the villa and opinions from a celebrity panel.

Harriott has already been out to the set to film prerecorded videos, and will be making several return trips before the series ends in early August. He said: ‘It’s a dream job - I get to go to Mallorca! Don’t let me down easyJet!’

Harriot’s other TV appearances include Live At The Apollo, Hypothetical and Don't Hate the Playaz, and last year he co-presented the Dave travelogue British as Folk alongside fellow comedians Ivo Graham and Fern Brady.

Love Island: Aftersun is on ITV2 and ITV Hub from 10pm on Sunday.
