
Melbourne Comedy Festival announces its 2022 award nominees
Seven comedians shortlisted for main award
The shortlist has been announced for the award for most outstanding act at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
The nominees are:
- Aaron Chen: If It Weren’t Filmed Nobody Would Believe
- Cameron James: Electric Dreams
- Danielle Walker: Nostalgia
- Geraldine Quinn: Broad
- Greg Larsen: We All Have Bloody Thoughts
- Laura Davis: If This Is It
- Rhys Nicholson: Rhys! Rhys! Rhys
Previously the nominees for the Golden Gibbo, given to artistically creative local independent productions in memory of the late, great Lynda Gibson, were revealed as Mel & Sam, Maria Angelico, Geraldine Quinn, Ashley Apap, Aiden Willcox, Ross Purdy and Alex Hines.
The shortlist for best newcomer – which is only open to Australian and New Zealand acts is expected to be announced on Thursday.
And all winners will be revealed on Saturday lunchtime local time.
