'What an unforgettable journey it's been'
Freddie Flintoff is leaving A League Of Their Own after 12 years.
The former England cricketer has been with the Sky panel show since it launched, appearing as a team captain in more than 140 episodes.
He announced the news to his 1million Instagram followers, posting: ‘It's been 12 years, 16 series, 6 road trips across America & Europe, 2 BAFTAs and a mud bath I'd rather forget, but now the time has come to leave the amazing ALOTO team.
‘Id like to say a huge thanks to all of you who tuned in over the years and to everyone I have worked with on the show - what an unforgettable journey it's been.’
His final appearance will be in the spin-off Road Trip: Dingle To Dover later this year.
A new team captain will be announced when the sports-comedy panel show records next series - the 17th - records this summer with team captainJamie Redknapp and host Romesh Ranganathan.
