Alex MacKeith wins Musical Comedy Awards

Best Friends Cabaret are top newcomers

Alex MacKeith, who describes his work as ‘sad/funny folk songs’ has won the delayed 2020 Musical Comedy Awards.

Tom Taylor was the runner-up, with Bennet Kavanagh third; with Amy Webber named the audience favourite.

Best Friends Cabaret - Alice Coombes and Livvy Perrett - won best newcomers.

The other finalists at the  Bloomsbury Theatre in London were Shelf, Chris Rio, 2 Mouthed Men, Jamie Finn, Canadians in Space and Stepdads.

Nick Horseman hosted the show, the 12th time the competition has been filmed, and the event was also live-streamed via NextUp.
