THE BBC has set an air date for the 'definitive' Peter Cook documentary, featuring rare footage from the late comedian's archive. The programme – which Chortle first reported on in October last year – will air on BBC Four at 10pm on November 16.

THE finalists have been announced for the annual 'World Series' of new acts competing in the Beat The Frog challenge at Manchester's Frog and Bucket comedy club. The all-male line-up for Monday night's event is Mark Grimshaw, Matt Hutson, Tom Lawrinson, Gary Meikle, Chris Sullivan, Donal Vaughan, Simon Wozniak and Anthony Wright.
