Trebles all round! Drunk History gets third series
Comedy Central has commissioned a third series of Drunk History.
The line-up of comedians taking part in the eight new half-hour episodes has not yet been revealed. However Daniel Sloss, Joe Lycett and Adam Hess have posted on social media that they have taken part.
Louise Holmes, vice president of programming for Comedy Central UK, said: 'Filming on series three has begun and we've got some exciting names lining up to get soddenly drunken in the name of history.'
The show, featuring comedians drunkenly retelling their favourite true historical story as actors and celebrities act out the scenes, originated as a Funny Or Die web series in 2007, before being picked up by Comedy Central in the US in 2013, and in the UK last year.
Narrated by Jimmy Carr, the second British series averaged 210,000 viewers per episode, almost double the average audience Comedy Central usually attracts for its late-night slot.
Producer Ben Rogers added: 'We're thrilled to be back on the bottle for a third series. We love making this show, and are looking forward to taking a more foggy look at history than ever before.'
Previous stars have included Emma Bunton, Jack Whitehall, Olivia Colman, Hugh Dennis, Phil; Jupitus, Sara Pascoe, and Nish Kumar.
The new series is due to air next year.
Man, doing @drunkhistory is the greatest. I just woke up in a bed I don't recognize, still drunk at 2am, and all I remember is laughing
