West End transfer for Showstopper!

Improv comedy musical gets a 10-week run

Improvised comedy musical troupe Showstopper! have landed their first full West End run.

The troupe will have a ten-week residency at London’s Apollo Theatre from September 24, creating a different musical every night.

Showstopper! first came to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008, after being developed at the King’s Head Theatre in Islington, North London, and also produced for a series on Radio 4 in 2010.

At the West End, creators Adam Meggido and Dylan Emery will be joined by a rotating cast including Ruth Bratt, Justin Brett, Pippa Evans, Susan Harrison, Sean McCann, Philip Pellew, Andrew Pugsley, Oliver Senton, Lucy Trodd, and Sarah-Louise Young.

Shows they have previously conjured up include Emotional Baggage, a romance set in Heathrow Airport, and Sweeney Cod, the tale of a fish shop owner with music.

Showstopper! are currently in Edinburgh and are appearing as part of Chortle’s Free Fringe line-up at Pleasance Dome at 18:40 tonight.
