Dave buys Parks & Rec
The Dave channel has snapped up the rights to acclaimed US mockumentary Parks and Recreation.
BBC Four previously aired the first three series of the Amy Poehler-fronted show in 2013 and 2014, but now the digital channel has brought the rights to the next four seasons.
Dave will air Parks and Recreation Seasons 4 and 5 from Monday July 27, with Seasons 6 and 7 following in summer 2016. The episodes will also be available via the on-demand service, UKTV Play.
Season 4 originally launched on NBC back in September 2011, with the seventh and final season finishing in February this year.
Parks and Rec, set in the town hall of Pawnee, Indiana, also stars Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Rob Lowe.
Dave’s deal with NBCUniversal International Distribution was brokered by UKTV’s head of acquisitions, Alexandra Finlay, who said: ‘As an award-winning comedy with a superb cast, Parks and Recreation is a fantastic addition to Dave’s scripted acquisition slate.’
Steve North, general manager for Dave added: ‘Parks and Recreation feels like it was written for Dave; the wit and humour fits perfectly on the channel and will be a great addition to the slate, sitting alongside Suits which we are bringing closer to the US [transmission date].’
Suits Season 5 will start on Dave sometime in August.
