Another TV exec joins Chortle conference
UKTV commissioning editor Iain Coyle has joined the broadcasting panel at the Chortle Conference.
Coyle is responsible for comedy and entertainment commissioning for Dave and is executive producer of Dave Gorman's series Modern Life Is Goodish
He will sit alongside Chris Sussman from BBC's comedy department, Fiona McDermott from Channel 4 and Caroline Raphael from Radio 4 on a panel that will reveal what the broadcasters are looking to commission, and the sort of comedy that personally excites them.
There is also the opportunity to pitch ideas direct to the panel – if you so wish – and get some instant feedback.
It is one of many highlights of a day full of invaluable insight into the comedy business, including the club circuit, the Edinburgh Fringe, how to put on a tour independently, and how to try to secure sponsorship of comedy events.
Keynote speakers Alexei Sayle and David Baddiel will also share their immeasurable experience of their varied careers in comedy.
The event is aimed at comedians and promoters at all levels of comedy – offering an insight even very established performers and producers will find fascinating and revealing... not to mention useful for their careers and businesses.
