Inbetweeners star in no rush for a sequel

Blake 'moving away' from Neil character

Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison has put the dampeners on rumours of a new movie, saying none of the stars have signed up to anything – and that he’s reluctant to revive his role as Neil.

The actor admitted it would be ‘possible’ for him to reunite with Simon Bird, James Buckley and Joe Thomas on a film sequel, but was keen to play down any suggestions anything was imminent.

Harrison told the Radio Times: ‘Whether there will be [a second film] or not, I don’t know. I know that there is talk about it and we all enjoy working with each other, and I think we’d like to work with each other again. But everything has to be right to do that.

‘For me, personally, I’m moving away from the Neil character and trying to do other things, so I’ve got to make sure I get a body of work behind me that shows me as a different character, or various different characters, before I would really go back to that, I think.’

Earlier in the month The Sun reported that the team were to reunite for a movie in which they backpacked around Australia.

However, the official Inbetweeners Facebook page quickly moved to quash that story, saying: ‘Nothing's signed yet, and Australia is just one of the ideas we're kicking around, but we hope to have a new and definitely final film for you some time next year.

The Inbetweeners Movie, which was released inAugust 2011, took more than £45 million at the box office, and broke weekend opening records for a comedy in the UK.
