Second series ordered

Cardinal Burns is to return for a second series – and moving to Channel 4.

The sketch duo made their debut on E4 last year, and scooped accolades including the Broadcast Award for best comedy and a Bafta nomination in the same category.

Now Seb Cardinal and Dustin Demri-Burns have been commissioned for a six-part series to go out on the main channel sometime next year.

The pair said: ‘We're delighted to be given a second series – the response to the first series was slightly overwhelming.  The fact that the series has moved to Channel 4 is just amazing and we're thrilled to be collaborating with Brian Eno on our tricky second series.’

Channel 4’s comedy commissioning editor Rachel Springett said: ‘We are delighted to bring to Channel 4 the likes of Banksy and The Office Flirt with a host of new brilliantly crafted and original characters including airline pilots Malcolm and Geoff and rapper Curtis Blow.
