Kevin Bridges says sorry after drunken arrest

Comic faces charges in Ireland

Kevin Bridges is facing criminal charges following a drunken incident in which a car was damaged.

The comic was arrested in Killarney, Ireland, in December, where he was performing his tour show The Story Continues.

He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and with criminal damage. His lawyer said that he would not be contesting the charges.

In a police statement, Bridges, 26, said: I was acting aggressively and I never intended to cause damage. I would like to apologise to the man in person [the owner of the car] and cover the cost.'

The case at Killarney District Court has been adjourned until May.

Bridges had a bad gig in Killarney’s INEC venue, according to several online complaints.

One fan reported that he was ‘very distracted by hecklers and in the end left the stage without finishing a joke and before the end of his set. This left the crowd wondering what was going on and ruined the end of the night.’

Another called it a ‘huge letdown’ and said the gig was plagued by ill-advised audience banter, with one fan even interrupting the gig to ask Bridges for his autograph.

Bridges’ publicist declined to comment further on the current case.
