Lilley starts work on new comedy

...but details remain secret

Summer Heights High creator Chris Lilley has started shooting his next comedy series... but is remaining very tight-lipped about what it entails.

Production has begun in Melbourne, but the project – two years after his mockumentary Angry Boys – has not yet been named.

BBC Three has already brought the six-part series, which like Angry Boys is a co-production between Australia’s ABC and America’s HBO.

Lilley said in a statement: ‘I've never been more excited about shooting a show. I really like this one. Can't wait for fans to see it.’

Last year he said it was a mockumentary ‘along the same lines as my other shows’ – which featured him playing multiple characters. ‘I want to keep as much of the show as possible a secret,’ he said.‘But if you've loved my last three shows, this is part four.’

ABC1 channel controller Brendan Dahill said Lilley had ‘consistently proved’ he could ‘deliver quality content’.
