Cuckoo set to return
BBC Three series Cuckoo is believed to have been commissioned for a second series.
The show, which starred Andy Samberg as a a New Age slacker, was the channel’s most-watched new comedy when it launched in September, with overnight ratings of 1.15million viewers.
News of a recommission was apparently broken by star Drew-Honey on his Twitter feed. In response to a fan who asked: ‘Will there be a cuckoo season two?’, the 17-year-old actor replied: ‘Yes there will be :) xx’
However, the BBC said they could not confirm a second commission.
Nevertheless, it's believed that approaches have been made to the cast about reuniting for filming later this year.
Greg Davies – who played the disappointed suburban father whose daughter married ‘Cuckoo’ while on a gap year trip to India – is currently writing Man Down, a sitcom for Channel 4 loosely based on his teaching career.
Drew-Honey is set to work on another series of Outnumbered, while Samberg will be seen in the films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Grown Ups 2 and The To Do List later this year.
