A Bridge to Radio 4

Christie lands her own series

Bridget Christie has landed her own Radio 4 comedy series – all about feminism.

She is to make a four-part series based on her latest Edinburgh show, War Donkey, to go out from March.

It is currently being written, with recordings due to take place in February and March next year.

Executive producer Alison Vernon Smith told Chortle: ‘I’ve wanted to do something with Bridget for years and this series comes out of her Edinburgh show this year, which was my favourite show there.

‘She’s a very funny woman, the shows are passionate and hilarious in equal measure. And it must be the first series on Radio 4 that has been inspired by a fart in a bookshop.’

Christie is no stranger to Radio 4, having made appearance on The News Quiz, Dilemma and Sarah Millican's Support Group, among others.

Here is a short piece about War Donkey from BBC’s The Culture Show.

  • Adam Riches is also returning to Radio 4 for a new four-part series in the new year, with co-stars Jim Johnson and Cariad Lloyd. For tickets to be in his studio audience, click here.
