Jon takes over XFM breakfast

Now Show comedian Jon Holmes is to be the new breakfast host on XFM London.

The comic and radio stalwart will take over from Danny Wallace, who quit to concentrate on other work projects, including writing an American sitcom.

Holmes is already known to listeners of 6 Music, where he hosts a Saturday show, and of Radio 2, where he stood in for Graham Norton during the summer and has previously co-hosted with Miranda Hart.

Holmes, the butt of jokes on Radio 4’s Now Show for his diminutive stature, said: ‘Xfm has always been the go-to station for enormous indie music, funny, irreverent broadcasting and the best ballsy entertainment on the radio.

‘The Xfm Breakfast Show is the stuff of legend, and this is where we take it to the next level (which, in accordance with council regulations, has both steps and a ramp).’

He starts his new job on January 7.
