That's a good sign!
Kevin Bridges has set a record for DVD signings after nearly 1,000 fans flocked to see him in a Glasgow store on Saturday.
The turnout is a record for a comedian making a personal appearance at any HMV store in Britain.
Some fans even queued for more than six hours to meet the comic, according to the Buchanan Street store – which also presented him with a birthday cake ahead of his 26th celebrations today.
Manager Natalie Faccenda said: ‘I have never known anything like this, and certainly not for a comedy artist. You'd have thought we had Justin Bieber in the store given the size of the crowd and the excitement among the fans.
‘It was a great atmosphere all day, especially when the crowd sang 'Happy Birthday to Kevin. A great day all round.’
The store reports that it sold just under 900 copies of Bridges’s new stand-up DVD The Story Continues that day alone.
HMV's previous record-holder for a comedian's appearance was John Bishop in his native Liverpool in 2010.Published: 13 Nov 2012
