'Muchos laughter'

Fans hail James Corden's stand-up slot

James Corden’s foray into stand-up proved a hit with a Cardiff audience last night.

The Gavin & Stacey star performed a set in the Glee Club, just down the road from where he is shooting his new film, One Chance, about the life of Britain's Got Talent star Paul Potts

Although his publicist insisted the appearance did herald any future plans for a stand-up tour, many fans tweeted their appreciation of his try-out slot.

Twitter used Waxed Bat tweeted: ‘Muchos laughter watching @JKCorden @TheGleeClub Cardiff last night. Very funny!’

Rhiannon Collins added: ‘Last night was amazing... thanks @JKCorden you beautiful man.

And Cara Beech said: ‘Just seen James Corden live in the Glee Club! So funny!’

However, some audience members were a little more cautious, with Balletjanet tweeting: ‘James Corden was funny, but I think his fame carried him a little.’

And Lewis Waggett said the other comedians on the bill ‘made James Corden look nothing special’.

Corden appeared alongside Charlie Baker, Steve Gribbin, Dominic Frisby and Christian Steel.

After the show, he was spotted in the Tiger Tiger and Buffalo bars in the city. Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing was apparently also there.
